Embracing New Beginnings with Enhanced Security Measures

As we prepare for the arrival of our spring chicks and turkey poults, our homestead is abuzz with anticipation and the spirit of renewal. Amidst this excitement, we've taken significant steps to enhance the safety and comfort of our future feathered residents. One such pivotal addition is the assembly of the Yitahome metal walk-in poultry run, a sanctuary designed to temporarily house our Broad Breasted turkeys. This setup not only anticipates their growth but also ensures their well-being until they transition to “freezer camp” for Thanksgiving.

Recognizing the importance of security, we've complemented this structure with a crucial modification: the installation of hardware cloth around the bottom perimeter. This simple yet effective strategy will prove indispensable. It provides an additional layer of protection against predators and peace of mind for us, simplifying our responsibilities by eliminating the necessity to build a protective structure from the ground up. But… this run is destined for when they are older and fully feathered. Meanwhile, I've procrastinated on setting up their brooder, focusing on tasks that could have waited. With just a few weeks left, it's time to decide: give in to panic or kick things into gear—decisions, decisions.
